By now many of you may have heard about this opportunity to deepen your
spiritual life called the “The Walk to Emmaus” and wondered how you could
find out more. You are invited to explore this with your pastor or someone
who has already taken The Walk. They will be more than happy to explain the
details and offer encouragement and how to obtain forms you need.
The focus of The Walk is seek God as known in Jesus Christ and how that is expressed in
the local church. The objective is to inspire, challenge and equip local church members to
Christian action in their personal lives, homes, churches and places of work.
The Walk is a non-denominational event sponsored by The Upper Room. It is a unique,
spiritual life retreat of the highest quality. Each Walk begins on a Thursday evening at
7:00 PM, and ends approximately 72 hours later on Sunday afternoon. Participants will
stay in rooms provided by the local, sponsoring church. Time will be given to: inspiration,
instruction, sacrament, soul searching, small group discussion, delicious meals, special
events, and fun.
Each participant (called Pilgrim) either clergy or laity must be a baptized Christian and
describe why they want to take the Walk. Special needs will be met if possible. The cost
of the weekend is $95. Per person and you are asked to send a $20’ deposit with your

However, please
do not let cost keep you from applying. There are scholarships available for those who
need them
.
Both husbands and wives are encouraged to attend. The husband usually going the first weekend and the wife the second because Each weekend is adjusted for the
